Located at 304 Third Street, Duncansville, the Blair Township Highway Department consists of four full time road crew employees: John Reed, Lou Legory, Dave Smith and Todd Lynn. Services provided by the Blair Township Highway Department include:

Blair Township’s new 2016 International equipped with a 10 foot wide plow for winter. The truck was purchased partially with Liquid Fuels Funds and also with the Township’s Local Services Tax revenue replacing a 1995 truck on the fleet. Blair Township now has 4 front line trucks and 1 spare to maintain the Township’s roadways.

Blair Township purchased a Vermeer Vacuum Excavating Trailer in 2019. This piece of equipment is used by Township staff to clean inlet boxes of road debris, locate underground utilities, and small area excavation.

In 2024 the Township purchased a John Deere Tractor with Boom arm attachment to replace an aging Massey Ferguson Boom Mower for road-side mowing. The Boom Tractor was purchased using both State Grant Funds and Liquid Fuels Funds.

The Blair Township Highway Department avoid damaging anyone’s property. However, mailboxes are often placed in the Township’s legal right-of-way. The Township is not liable for damages to mailboxes, fencing, shrubbery, trees, etc. caused by snow removal or other maintenance operations when placed within the Township’s right-of-way.
Notice to Property Owners: When removing snow from private property it is not to be plowed, shoveled, or blown on to public streets.

The Blair Township Police Department will conduct exterior security inspections of your home while you are on vacation. You can also notify us by calling (814) 696-3846 or stop by our office at 375 Cedarcrest Drive, Duncansville, Pa. (Requests should be made at least 72 hours prior to your absence). For your convenience, complete our online Vacation Home Check Request to let us know when you will be out of town.
Please note: Requests made after hours or over the weekend will not be processed until the next business day. Additionally, vacation home checks will not be provided for homes that are being offered for sale by a realtor that will be unoccupied for 48 hours or less, in a home where a person has been engaged to live in the home while the owner is absent, or where the house will be unoccupied for more than nine months.
